ORIENTAL LUXURY brings authentic Japanese head spa techniques to Chicago’s South Loop, offering a comprehensive approach to scalp and body wellness. Their signature treatments combine detailed scalp massage with traditional hair washing methods, focusing on pressure point techniques that target tension from the scalp down through the neck and shoulders.
The spa’s combo packages are particularly popular, bundling their specialized head treatments with complementary services like basic facial cleansing, neck and back massage, and foot exfoliation. Their therapists are trained in firm pressure techniques, using methodical movements that work deep into the scalp muscles and promote circulation.
Located on the first floor of a West 23rd Place building, the space maintains an understated atmosphere that lets the technical expertise take center stage. What sets this spot apart is their dedication to authentic Japanese methods—they don’t just offer relaxation, but employ specific massage sequences and pressure applications that address the interconnected tension patterns between head, neck, and shoulders.

Got the combo A, which comes with detailed head massage/hair washing, basic facial cleaning, neck/back massage and foot exfoliation. Personally prefers firm pressure massages which my masseuse did a great job hitting all my pressure points with perfect strength. I LOVE when she covered my eyes with the disposable face towel and started the waterfall on it while putting the hood over with the steam felt soooo nice especially during the cold. Ps. Street park out front/across the street and 44 bus station is right outside.

My scalp feels so clean after the signature head and scalp cleanse. I liked the ambiance and mood they set. It was really relaxing. My technician was very professional and did a great job with the cleanse and the massage. She really got in there with my top back knots! The only thing I'd recommend to improve on is to pat wet hair with a towel instead of rubbing the hair which damages and creates hair frizz. This has made me want monthly spa treatments.

I spontaneously called to be a walk-in for a head and scalp massage. The prices is $99. I was welcomed into the spa but friendly staff. Once we decided on my service I was shown to a very inviting and comfortable area where my service was. The technician was fantastic— so kind and a gracious host. The building is super safe, clean and inviting and there are so many thoughtful touches. I had an amazing experience. I can’t wait to go back.

The technician who gave me the head treatment was beautiful, soft-spoken, and the massage was very good and comfortable. The whole process was very satisfying. The indoor environment is very spacious, and the sofa in the waiting area can be swayed, which is very comfortable. The light control is also very good

Came in with a friend in cold winter and got combo A. The owner was very accommodating and answered all the questions I had. She gave each of us a gown to put on and a little storage box to put our clothes in. My masseuse, although I didn’t know her name, she did a good job making sure the water temperature was good. It was a very relaxing experience. I will for sure come back.
