Fashion Point Spa

Located in Boston’s bustling downtown, Fashion Point Spa offers a unique scalp treatment experience that’s both eye-opening and deeply relaxing. The process begins with a fascinating magnifying camera examination that shows clients exactly what’s happening on their scalp – think of it as a reality check that makes the treatment feel incredibly worthwhile.

During the 45-minute session, skilled therapists perform thorough exfoliation to remove buildup and dead skin, followed by targeted massage techniques that leave clients feeling genuinely renewed. The detailed attention to scalp health goes far beyond a typical spa treatment, addressing issues many people don’t even realize they have.

Clients consistently report feeling lighter and more refreshed afterward, often noting that their hair feels different – cleaner and more vibrant. The combination of the educational aspect and the physical benefits creates a surprisingly transformative experience that keeps people coming back for regular sessions.

This review is for folks wondering what exactly IS the scalp treatment? I got the 45 minute scalp treatment with exfoliation for $92. They started with a magnifying video showing you how grody your scalp is. I went with a friend, so the staff explained the difference between our scalp skin types, which was helpful! Especially since we could clearly see the difference between our scalps. The staff performing the services mainly spoke Chinese, but the receptionist translated to English for us, so communication was clear. Once you go into the tx room, you take off your clothes and put on the robe provided. There were two massage beds with sinks attached side by side, so I could chat with my friend if I wanted to. They put a heated eye mask on you, which is comfy, and protects you from water splashing onto your eyes or awkward eye contact. They started with a cool exfoliating gel on your scalp and massaging with a wooden tool. Then they shampoo 3x times, with scalp and neck massage every time. Somewhere during that time, they also clean and massage your neck and decolletage. I'm still not sure how they rinsed off my upper chest without getting the massage bed wet, but it felt nice! Then they put conditioner, rinsed, then it's time to put on your clothes and go back to the main room with they simply blow dry your hair and apply a moisturizing serum to your scalp/roots. They also use the magnifying video again to show you how much nicer your scalp looks. I would absolutely do it again! It was super relaxing and my head feels great. I'd try the 70 minute one next time.

Up until the blow dry, everything was great. The scalp treatment and massage were super relaxing and the lady who was working with me was super sweet. However, when she started blow drying my hair, I said that my hair is on the curlier side so she would need to use a round brush in order to make sure it didn’t come out poofy. She told me not to worry and that the Dyson has anti-frizz technology, and that she would use a certain product in my hair after it was half-dry to make sure it came out smooth. A few minutes later, after she put the product in and my hair was almost dry, it was super frizzy and poofy. I said again that it looked frizzy and she told me not to worry, the hair oil would fix it. Since the oil alone was not enough to fix it, I explained that the round brush is necessary for the blow drying process. She then wet my hair with a spray bottle and tried blowing it out using the round brush, but my hair was too dry by that point so I said I would just fix it at home. I had to come home and wash my hair again to restyle it since it was too frizzy and poofy. If you have straight hair, I think this is a great place and their services are good but unfortunately I can’t justify the $120 price if I have to fix the styling myself at home. 5 stars for the treatment up until the blow drying process though!

I had heard about scalp treatments online and wanted to try one. I live in Providence, but gratefully found one close by in Boston. I ended up getting the scalp treatment and a facial and it was so relaxing. The employees were super nice and helped answer my questions. Would definitely recommend this spa and will be back in the future!

This was my first hair salon experience with a scalp treatment. I have been researching this for an upcoming trip to South Korea and I wanted to find somewhere near home (NH) as well. If anyone is on the fence, PLEASE consider this spa! I was in heaven, pretty much smiled my way the whole way through this amazing spa experience. I will be going back as often as I can get down to Boston! 10/10 will go back again.
