Mutao Wellness Spa on Spring Mountain Road specializes in traditional Japanese head spa treatments that go far beyond typical scalp massages. Their therapists use authentic techniques like precise pressure point stimulation along the scalp and neck, combined with specialized brushing methods that help improve circulation and relieve tension. The treatments typically include deep cleansing with Japanese-formulated products, followed by methodical massage patterns that target specific areas where stress accumulates.
What sets this location apart is their focus on the complete head and shoulder experience – they incorporate heated towel applications and gentle stretching movements that address the connection between scalp tension and overall well-being. The spa maintains a quieter atmosphere compared to larger wellness centers, allowing clients to fully concentrate on the therapeutic benefits. Their approach emphasizes the Japanese philosophy that scalp health directly impacts mental clarity and relaxation, making each session both a physical treatment and a mindful practice.

Massage was mediocre at best. They also asked me to share a room with my friend once we arrived since we're both women, which was fine -- but the masseuses kept chatting with each other part of the time or going out of the room, making it hard to relax. We paid to unwind, not listen to them talk. As we were paying, someone came in saying a van had been broken into -- which turned out to be our rental car. When we asked if they could check the security cameras, we were denied. No one offered to help or even showed sympathy, which felt cold and suspicious. Please be careful parking here. Our rental car was broken into right outside the spa, and several of our bags with high value items contents inside stolen. It's definitely not a relaxing or safe experience.

We’ve visited this establishment several times and have consistently received high-quality massages and friendly service. Unfortunately, today was an exception. My parents were placed in a room and left waiting for about 10 minutes with no staff in sight—it appears they were completely forgotten. My father had to step out and approach the front desk to ask what was going on. Eventually, a female masseuse arrived to begin his scheduled one-hour massage. However, just five minutes into the session, my father felt that her technique was lacking and suspected she might not be putting in genuine effort. He politely asked if he could switch to another therapist. To our surprise, the masseuse not only refused the request, but responded in a highly inappropriate and dismissive manner: “Why don't you get dressed and skip the massage today?” This kind of attitude is absolutely unacceptable. What makes this even more disappointing is that the massage room itself clearly displays a sign inviting clients to speak up within 10 minutes if they’re unhappy with the service. We’ve always appreciated that open and customer-focused approach, which is why today’s experience was so jarring. I sincerely hope management will conduct a thorough quality review to ensure this doesn’t happen to future guests. Respectful service and accountability are key to maintaining the trust of loyal customers.

We saw this place on TikTok and Groupon. We tried it out and was definitely was not disappointed. I highly recommend this place. It was our first time getting a massage. We also did the foot reflexology and the cupping therapy. We felt very at ease and would definitely do this again. Go and get relaxed.

My husband and I both went in for massages. He received the 60 minute foot combo and cupping with Anna. I received the 60 minute full body massage with Evan. Both providers were OUTSTANDING. My husband said he really enjoyed his service and was excited to try cupping. As for myself, I have a lot of trouble relaxing, and I also have a fairly sedentary but demanding job. Evan worked out a lot of my tension and did some work that loosened up my hips, lower and middle back, and neck - all areas that I carry most of my tension. We will absolutely be back. My husband is eyeing another massage service and I am excited to try their head spa!

Mutao Wellness Spa is an absolute hidden gem in Las Vegas. We were lucky enough to be hosted here last week, and we’re still talking about how amazing the experience was. The scalp treatment is a must-try, and the massage was the perfect amount of pressure—so relaxing and restorative. If you’re looking for an off-Strip experience, this is one we highly recommend. It’s close enough to the Strip to be convenient, but it feels like a peaceful escape from the chaos. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, Mutao Wellness Spa is well worth a visit. ✨
